Technical Session
Address: St Joseph’s University, 850 Greenfield Rd, Lancaster, PA 17601
Our technical session venue is the High Auditorium at St. Joseph's University. The entrance is located at the rear of the Cooper Building. Please plan to arrive and check in between 8:00 and 9:00 AM.

2025 AISC T.R.Higgins Lecture - Achieving Excellence in Fabricated Structural Steel
Presented by Ronnie Medlock, P.E., High Steel VP Technical Services.
What does it mean to achieve excellence in fabrication? How does the degree of excellence impact the success of a steel bridge project? How is excellence achieved? Answering correctly is paramount for achieving quality bridge projects that are cost-effective and on schedule. The 2025 AISC T. R. Higgins Lecture addresses these questions, providing shop floor insights that transcend bridge fabrication to any custom-manufactured engineering components.

Open House - BBQ AND SHOP TOURS
Address: High Steel Structures, 1911 Old Philadelphia Pike, Lancaster, PA 17602
After the project showcase, we will drive a short distance to High Steel's Lancaster fabrication facilities for a BBQ picnic and guided shop tours.
There are two driveways next to each other at our facility. Enter the upper parking lot off of Old Philadelphia Pike at the sign marked "Plant One Parking" 1911.

12:30-3:00 PM - Shop Tours
Notes:
- We will have vegetarian options available at the picnic.
- Please let us know if you need physical accommodations to participate in the shop tour.

Important Safety Information
Please review these important safety guidelines:
High Steel Structures LLC holds the safety of all colleagues and visitors as a number one priority. Please follow the guidelines listed below:
- No smoking or Vaping. High Steel’s Facilities are tobacco-free.
- Dress Code for Shop Tour:
- Clothing: Long pants and socks are required. No sleeveless shirts.
- Footwear: Hard-soled shoes or boots. (No sneakers, high-heels, or sandals.)
- PPE
- You are encouraged to bring your own PPE. Hard Hats, Safety Glasses, and Ear Plugs are required. PPE will be provided if you don’t have your own.
- Tour Safety
- Protect your eyes! Do not stare at weld or plasma arcs or flash.
- Stay with your group in the designated walkways. Do not enter individual work areas unless authorized.
- When a crane's horns sounds, stop, look and determine the crane path. Clear yourself of the crane path by moving to designated walkways along the walls. Never position yourself under or near a suspended load.
- Use personnel doors when entering or leaving the fabrication buildings.
- In the unlikely event of an evacuation, proceed in an orderly fashion to the visitor parking area.
- Immediately notify your tour guide or another company representative in the unlikely event of injury. Ask for a First Aid evaluation.
